The Gathering

Hailstar lept up onto the great rock and curled her tail around her paws, waiting for the other Clans. "looks like we are here first..." She whispered to herself.

"What did you say Hailstar? About being here first?" Featherstar purred. She hopped up onto the great rock, looking around at the cats gathered beneath them, everything washed silver by the moon. "So we are just waiting for Amberstar and Willowstar?" She asked.

"Woah," Frost said looking around the island. "This is where you go every full moon?" He asked Echofrost. "What do you guys do while you wait?" He wondered.

The golden leader of Breezeclan padded across the bridge to the island, her fur catching the moonlight slightly. Once across, the leader leaped up onto The Great Rock. "Hello there." She mewled in greeting to Hail.

"Yes, the Gathering is every full moon. And usually just talk I guess." Echofrost mewled in response to her brother, not a hint of harshness in it. She really was only cold to Bush.

Hailstar dipped her head in greeting to to the other leaders. "Hello Willowstar and Featherstar." She said and waited for NightClan to come so they could begin the Gathering.

"Is Nightclan gonna show up soon or what?" Willowstar asked, her patience wearing thin. The former kittypet was extremely bad at waiting.

"I am sure they will..." Hailstar said, not as cofidently as she would have liked. She shifted on her paws. I can stand in front of my own Clan and give news just fine, so why is it any different here? She thought.

Well at least the longer they take the more time I have to compose myself for my turn to speak... The golden leader thought, shifting her weight. Willowstar was nervous to speak in front of all four Clans.

Flamefoot clumbsily jumped onto the Great Rock and sat down, uncofortable with all four Clans watching him. "Uh, sorry Amberstar couldn't be here..." He mumbled, only loud egnough for the other Clan leaders to hear.

"Ok, now that NightClan is here we can begin the gathering." Featherstar said. "Who would like to share first?" She asked the other Clan leaders.

"Um... Not me." Willowstar mewled, really not wanting to speak in front of all the Clans first. I'm so worried that I'm gonna make a fool of myself... Ugh, stop thinking that way Willowstar!! She mentally scolded herself.

"I guess I will." Hailstar said and stood up. "Prey has been running well for us, we did find a fox in our territory but we drove it out. I don't know what border it went to but I hope none of you have a problem with it." She said and sat down.

"Um, who now?" Willowstar asked, hoping they wouldn't say her. She really was nervous to speak, and hoped to be last.

"I'll go." Flamefoot mumbled and stood up. "Prey is running well for us too, and thank you for the warning Hailstar I will be sure to tell Amberstar." He said, sitting again. "Now who wants to go?" He asked looking at Featherstar and Willowstar.

Willowstar stayed silent, and looked towards Featherstar. The young leader wanted to go last, but second to last was not so bad either.

"It's fine, I will go next." Featherstar said and stood up. "Hunting has been fine here, and we will keep a look out for that fox." She said and took her place on the Great Rock.

Guess it's my turn... Willowstar thought as she stepped up. "Um... Prey has also been running well for Breezeclan, and thank you for alerting us of the fox." She mewled, and stepped back. Once back, she released a breath she did not know she was holding.

Hailstar hopped down from the Great Rock. She sat down at the base of the rock to wash. I am glad that I didn't do something stupid like fall off the rock... She thought.

Flamefoot hopped down from the rock clumbsily. He padded over to the group of NightClan cats. "I am so glad that the Gathering is only once a moon and that Amberstar might come next time." He said. He didn't want to be the center of attention ever.

Carefully, the golden leader hopped off the Great Rock and padded up to the Breezeclan cat. "Let's return to camp." She mewled, and turned to pad away, flicking her tail for her warrior to follow.
